Heading out to eat and undecided about where to go? CU-CitizenAccess.org’s new app could provide you with information to help you make that choice.
This mobile-friendly app, currently in beta testing, provides a list of all of the establishments permitted to serve food in Champaign County. You can search the list by restaurant to find specific inspection reports and see the score each restaurant received from 2008 to the present.
Champaign-Urbana Public Health District officials score restaurants, food markets and other businesses on a 100-point scale and fail any with an adjusted score below 36. Points are deducted for critical and non-critical violations to get a score.
Any inspection marked with red indicates a failing score of less than 36 points.
We want your help to test this app. Have a question, suggestion, or comment? Send us an email at hello@cu-citizenaccess.org.
